Details of WWE Smackdown and the Ticket Luck value
WWE Smackdown is a wrestling entertainment show that has never failed to entertain its fans! It is one of the two WWE wrestling branches, the other one being 'Raw', which is just as popular. The show premiered in 1999 and was broadcasted every Thursday till 2005, when the broadcast day was changed to Fridays. The television networks that Smackdown has used have been changing over the years. Debuting on the UPN Network, the show moved to CW after WB and UPN merged. Following that, it began airing on MyNetwork in 2008 and finally on Syfy in 2010. The timings at which Smackdown premiers in different countries of the world vary; showing a day before that the United States in Philippines, Australia and India and showing a few hours before the US in Ireland and UK.
Created by Vince McMahon, Smackdown has had a total of 13 seasons and 622 episodes, with each episode being two hour long. The format of the show has kept changing over the past, at times to break the monotony and at times to add more flavour to the show. In the beginning the stage used to be oval shaped, to differentiate it from the rectangular stage used in Raw. The much acclaimed wrestler 'The Rock' referred to Smackdown as 'his show', contributing immensely to its ever increasing popularity.
2002 brought some structural changes to the show with a large scale brand extension taking place for WWE, thereby creating a division between Raw and Smackdown which would now compete against each other. This made wrestlers exclusive to one of the two shows only. Following that, the 'WWE Undisputed Championship' and the 'WWE Women's Championship' started and were to be contested on both shows.
WWE Smackdown has more young fans as compared to the older ones and keeping this in mind, a censorship policy was adopted in 2002, ensuring that bloody images weren't shown explicitly on screen. This, however, was not long lasting, as neither the replays of shows were censored nor were broadcasts in other countries. Following that, censorship issues were relaxed and instead, Parental Guidance was instated to achieve the same purpose.
The production process of Smackdown is such that the show is recorded on Tuesday and aired on Syfy on the following Friday. The official soundtrack of the show, 'Know Your Enemy' by Green Day, has now become its anthem and identity and is played at the start of each episode. The previous soundtrack 'Let it Roll' by Divide was also just as popular amongst all wrestling fans and is still associated with Smackdown. In addition to this, each individual wrestler has his own identification song which is played when he enters the arena and live audiences can be seen chanting these very songs as their favourite wrestlers walk in.
Smackdown now includes wrestling superstars like the 'Undertaker', 'Tyson Kidd', 'Tony Chimel', 'The Great Khali', 'Wade Barrett', 'Theodore Long', 'Yoshi Tatsu', 'Todd Grisham', 'William Regal', 'Sin Kara', 'Booker T', 'Daniel Bryan', 'Justin Gabriel', 'Jimmy Uso', 'Cody Rhodes', 'Hornswoggle', 'Josh Mathews', 'Jinder Mahal', 'Sheamus', 'Kane', 'Randy Orton', 'Tyson Kidd', 'Ranjin Singh', 'Layla', 'Rosa Mendes', 'Natalya', 'Kaitlyn', 'Tamina', 'Matt Striker' and several more. Some of these wrestlers have been with SmakDown since the very beginning; however, most keep shuttling between Raw and Smackdown.
Ever since its formation in 1999, Smackdown has only been growing bigger and more popular with time, make more and more fans day in day out. Despite several 'Don't Try This at Home' warning, children of all ages can't help emulating their favourite wrestler and his signature moves.
