Dear Sirs

The BBC Watchdog programme is due to broadcast a TV report on BBC1 on Monday 9th March at 1930 about concert/festival ticket websites.  The programme will feature complaints from customers of various websites who’ve ordered concert/festival tickets, only to find that they were not delivered or given a refund.  In these cases, the websites have now since vansihed.

In addition to this, we intend to refer to a number of other websites, including your own, which we understand are selling tickets they are not authorised by the event managers to sell.  While this, in itself is not illegal, we’re told by industry experts that there is a risk that purchasers of those tickets through your site have little or no guarantee they will ever receive them.

In the case of your website, we have been told by a ticketing security expert, and festival promoters that your site is not authorised to sell Kaiser Chiefs tickets.

In light of this allegation we now invite your written response, and would appreciate it if you would answer the following questions.

  1. Can you confirm that you are not authorised to sell the tickets referred to above?
  2. Do you agree with the allegation that customers of your site, purchasing these tickets, have no guarantee of receiving them?

Please ensure that your written responses reach me no later than 1200 GMT  midday on Monday 9th March 2009.  Failure to submit your written responses before that time may result in your response not being fully considered and reflected in the broadcast.  In the meantime, if you have any questions of queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully
